Dr. Carboni is a leading figure on sustainable project management. He is a graduate of Ball State University, holds a Ph.D. In Sustainable Development and Environment and has over 23 years’ experience in portfolio, program and project management—spanning government, finance, big five consulting, manufacturing and education.
He is a frequent speaker at project management and sustainability symposiums, congresses and conferences all over the globe and has worked in over 50 countries advancing sustainable development. He is the President of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) in the United States the founder of GPM (Green Project Management) and an adjunct professor at Skema Business School in Paris, France.
Joel is also the GPM representative to the United Nations Global Compact where he was a founding signatory of the UN’s Business for Peace Initiative & Anti-Corruption call to action, a contributing author of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (sdgs), and is one of only fourteen listed supporting organizers of the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education Program (prime).
He is the architect of the prismtm project delivery methodology, the P5 Standard for Sustainability in Project Management.
And has authored training programs on Green and Sustainable Project Management that are currently offered in over 145 countries through professional training providers, business associations, and universities in six languages. He is the co-author of Sustainable Project Management an Amazon bestseller and serves on the Forbes Non-Profit Council.
