IPMA Serbia experts have successfully conducted four trainings within the capacity improvement program in the field of project management, for employees of the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Administration and the Treasury Administration. The program was financially supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. It was conducted from June to September 2022.
During the training, in the first part of the program, workshops, lectures, and exercises were held, where participants developed project management competencies using PM2, recommended by the European Commission for project management in public administration. Through the mentoring that followed with experts from IPMA Serbia, participants built individual and team capacities for project management using PM2.
With the aim of making the results of the capacity improvement program in the field of project management sustainable, in the second part of the program, Training of Trainers was conducted for the same group of participants, who were presented with the skills of preparing and conducting training, public speaking, and presenting. With this part of the program, future trainers were educated and the capacities of the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Administration, and the Treasury Administration for internal development and training of employees were secured.
In order to develop the skills of participants for the application of software tools for project management, the third part of the program included MS Project training. The participants were introduced to the possibilities of using the software by working directly on their projects, which they had previously developed using PM2, and thus successfully developed both the theoretical and practical aspects of project management using this methodology.
Training in sustainable project management was conducted in the final part of the capacity improvement program in the field of project management. The goal was to bring the participants closer to the way in which the global sustainable development goals can be integrated into strategies and projects, and how the postulates of the Green Agenda 2030, the European Green Deal, and other relevant documents can be implemented in specific projects.
