IPMA Serbia has successfully organized the 27th International Congress on Project Management titled “Interdisciplinarity as the Key Link of the Project Profession”. The congress took place in Vrnjačka Banja from June 8th to June 10th, 2023, bringing together participants from various parts of the world.
The congress was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Project and Innovation Management – Prof. Dr. Petar Jovanović, at the “Vrnjačke terme” hotel. Participants of the 27th International Congress on Project Management were welcomed at the openning ceremony by prof. dr Vladimir Obradović, president of IPMA Serbia, Aca Jovanović, the Faculty of Project and Innovation Management, Prof. Dr. Ivan Vulić, Colonel Assoc., Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at the University of Defence, and Ms. Di Cao, Executive director and Mr. Zhang Quinngkui, Chair of the Aihua International Education Technology Group, the “Vrnjačke terme” hotel. Participants had the opportunity to participate in panel discussions, roundtables, and sessions with paper presentations, as well as to join the Young Crew workshop designed for professionals under 35 years of age.
The Congress getered tougether a great number of distinguished speakers: Prof. Dr. Nenad Ivanišević, Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, and Igor Osmokrović, Chief Operating Officer of Bexel Consulting. Key topics of the Congress were: “Challenges in IT Project Management in the Defense Industry,” “Contemporary Issues in Project Management in Construction,” “Construction Project Management in an Integrated Digital Environment”, and „Project Management Office“.
Additionally, we are highlighting the panel discussion on “Challenges of Strategic Management in Scientific Research Organizations,” attended by researchers from 14 institutes. The panel focused on issues potential solutions, aiming to leverage the potential of Scientific Research Organizations.
Participants had the opportunity to present their papers at the congress, which contributed to an open discussion on the topic of interdisciplinarity in project management.
Among the series of events during the three-day congress, a noteworthy panel on “Scienceand Economy Collaboration Projects” took place. The panel was moderated by Dr. Duško Blagojević, the President of the Community of Institutes of Serbia, and it provided valuable insights into potential collaborative projects between scientific research institutes and the business sector.
On the final day of the Congress, Vladana Stepanović and Sara Stojiljković conducted a successful Young Crew workshop on the topic of “Excellence in Projects: Communication and Interdisciplinarity.”
The main objective of the 27th International Congress was to raise awareness about the importance of integrating different disciplines to achieve more effective project management. Additionally, the congress provided researchers with an opportunity to share their contributions in the field of interdisciplinarity and project management.
This year, the Congress gathered over 120 participants from 6 countries and various fields of expertise.
